HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County now has ten active cases of COVID-19.
The four new cases announced Wednesday include a related male and female in their 30s and 40s respectively with a known source of exposure and a male in his 20s with a known source of exposure, along with a female under the age of 18 with an unknown source of exposure.
Fifty-seven previously confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Reno County have recovered from their illness and are no longer considered contagious per disease investigation guidelines furnished by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The ten active cases are being investigated to establish isolation requirements and identify close contacts so that appropriate quarantine requirements can be implemented.
Reno County has run 2,697 tests with 2,632 negatives for a positive case rate of 2.41%. A total of 4.29% of Reno County has been tested thus far.
Continue good hygiene with frequent hand washing, proper respiratory etiquette such as coughing and sneezing into your elbow bend, wearing a mask when going out in public, limiting handshakes and physical contact.
