ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Brett Phillips squatted on the field crying, Randy Arozarena sprawled in the dirt pounding his hands on home plate.

Tears of joy, smacks of celebration — and a crucial, crazy win for the scrappy Tampa Bay Rays.

In one of the wildest World Series finishes ever, the light-hitting Phillips delivered a tying single off Kenley Jansen with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning that turned into the&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1320219342211080193" target="_blank">game-ending hit</a>&nbsp;when the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the ball twice, allowing Arozarena to scramble home and lifting the Rays to an 8-7 victory Saturday night that suddenly evened things at two games each.

“Golly, what a special moment,” Phillips said.

The Dodgers led 7-6 when center fielder Chris Taylor misplayed Phillips’ ball in right-center for an error and chased it down while Kevin Kiermaier scored the tying run. Arozarena kept charging around third base but stumbled and fell well before reaching home.

He was able to get up and score when catcher Will Smith looked up too early and missed the relay throw, letting it squirt toward the backstop while Arozarena dived on top of the plate.

“Once I saw Randy slip, I was like ‘Aw, shoot, at least we tied it up,’ and then he missed the ball,” said Phillips, who had entered the game as a pinch-runner in the eighth. “I don’t know what happened, but then he scored. The next thing I know, I’m airplane-ing around the outfield and I get dogpiled and here I am.”

Arozarena said he was trying to retreat to third after tumbling over.

“We had already tied the game. I was trying to get into a rundown,” Arozarena said through a translator. “Then obviously once the ball got past him, I turned around and scored.”

Jansen came on in the ninth for the Dodgers and struck out Yoshi Tsutsugo before a broken-bat single by Kiermaier, the longest-tenured Rays player. Arozarena, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mlb.com/video/arozarena-s-9th-postseason-hr" target="_blank">rookie who earlier hit his postseason record ninth homer</a>, drew a two-out, full-count walk to set up the improbable final play.

“You got to stay positive,” Jansen said. “I didn’t give up one hard hit. What can I do? Throw the pitches where I wanted to. Credit to the hitters.”

A 26-year-old from Seminole, Florida, Phillips was drafted by Houston and played for Milwaukee and Kansas City before being acquired by the Rays, his hometown team, in August for a minor leaguer. Touted for his outfield defense and speed, he hasn’t hit much in the majors, ending the regular season with a career .202 average in 153 games.

He had been 0 for 2 in the postseason and hadn’t batted since Game 3 of the AL Division Series on Oct. 7. His last hit had been a month ago, on Sept. 25.

Phillips was left off the AL Championship Series roster but shined as a cheerleader, writing up phony scouting reports on a clipboard touting Arozarena before dancing against him in battles after the team locked up the AL pennant.

“What a great team effort on this win. It took almost 28 guys,” Phillips said. “That’s what special about this team. Just all come together, our one goal is to win. We don’t rely on one guy. It takes everyone, and man, baseball is fun.”

<a href="https://www.mlb.com/video/corey-seager-s-solo-swat" target="_blank">Corey Seager</a>&nbsp;and Justin Turner both had four hits with a solo homer for the Dodgers, who nearly went into Game 5 on Sunday night with a 3-1 series lead. They’ll send three-time NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw to the mound on regular rest after winning Game 1 on Tuesday night.

Cody Bellinger, a Gold Glove finalist in center field, was switched to designated hitter just over an hour before the game because of back stiffness, trading places with AJ Pollock in the lineup. Taylor, also a second baseman, started in left field and moved to center after Joc Pederson pinch-hit for Pollock in the seventh and then took over in left. Only Taylor was charged with an error on the final play.

Turner said there was no way for Dodgers catcher Smith to have known Arozarena fell.

“He was trying to catch the ball and put a quick tag down. If he’d have known he fell, he probably would have taken his time and made sure he caught it,” Turner said. “Not sure what happened in center. That’s uncharacteristic for us.”

Hunter Renfroe, Brandon Lowe and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mlb.com/video/kevin-kiermaier-s-solo-hr-in-7th" target="_blank">Kiermaier also homered</a>&nbsp;for the Rays, who had gotten all of their runs on long balls until that last play. Those homers came during a frantic stretch when the teams combined to score in eight consecutive half-innings, a first in World Series history.

A solo homer by Kiermaier, with the Rays since 2013, tied the game at 6 in the seventh, right after the first two lead changes in this entire World Series.

Lowe went deep the opposite way for the third time in this Series, his three-run homer to left in the bottom of the sixth putting the Rays up 5-4. A half-inning later, the second baseman was laying facedown in short right field after his diving attempt to catch Pederson’s liner, which&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mlb.com/video/joc-pederson-s-two-run-single-x2084" target="_blank">skimmed off the top of his glove for a two-run single</a>&nbsp;that put LA back ahead.

That was the first go-ahead pinch-hit in the World Series for LA since Kirk Gibson’s game-ending homer in Game 1 in 1988.

This finish had a drastically different feeling for the Dodgers.

“It’s tough and we got to digest it, but we’ve got to turn the page,” manager Dave Roberts said. “This is certainly a tough one, but I know our guys. ... We’re very resilient.”

John Curtiss, the seventh Tampa Bay pitcher, worked the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Starter Ryan Yarbrough, who pitched in relief in Game 1, allowed the Turner and Seager homers in his 3 1/3 innings. It was the sixth consecutive World Series game for the Rays that their starter didn’t finish at least five innings. That goes back to the final two Series games when they lost to Philadelphia in five games in 2008. ... The only runs allowed by Dodgers starter Julio Urias in his 4 2/3 innings were the solo homers to Arozarena and Renfroe.

Turner became the first player to homer in the first inning of consecutive World Series games. His drive to straightaway center was his 12th career postseason homer, breaking a tie with Hall of Fame center fielder Duke Snider for the most in franchise history. Seager later matched Snider at 11, his homer in the third being his eighth this postseason to match the MLB record for all of an inning.

When Arozarena went deep, that left Seager tied with Nelson Cruz, Carlos Beltran and Barry Bonds for the second-most.

Dodgers: Kershaw is the franchise leader with his 12 postseason wins — and 12 postseason losses. The left-hander from nearby Dallas struck out six while allowing one run and two hits over six innings to beat the Rays in Game 1 on Tuesday night.

Rays: RHP Tyler Glasnow has allowed 10 runs over 10 1/3 innings his last two starts, including Game 1 against the Dodgers when the six runs allowed in 4 1/3 innings by the right-hander were his most given up since September 2018.

With the win, Oklahoma State joined Kansas State as the only remaining undefeated teams in conference play. Iowa State's Breece Hall ran for a career-high 185 yards. The Cyclones vaulted onto the national radar by beating Oklahoma earlier in the month and were seeking their first 4-0 start in league play.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Larry Rountree carried 37 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns, leading Missouri to a grinding 20-10 victory over Kentucky. The Tigers played stingy defense and converted enough third- and fourth-down plays to control the ball with lengthy drives. Missouri held the ball for 43 minutes and ran 56 more plays than the Wildcats.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Quarterback Justin Fields completed 20 of 21 passes for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 5 Ohio State rolled over Nebraska 52-17. The Buckeyes dominated the Huskers in the second half in the Big Ten teams' pandemic-delayed opener.. Running back Master Teague II also ran for two touchdowns as Ohio State piled up 498 yards of offense. The Ohio State defense took most of the first half to figure out a way to contain slippery Cornhuskers quarterback Adrian Martinez, who marched the Huskers down for a touchdown in the opening 2 minutes &nbsp;of the game.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Sophomore receiver David Bell caught three touchdown passes, including the game winner, to guide the Purdue Boilermakers to a 24-20 victory over Iowa. With the Boilermakers' top receiver Rondale Moore sidelined for undisclosed reasons, Bell caught 13 passes for 121 yards. His difference maker was a 6-yard TD from Aidan O'Connell with 2:15 remaining in the fourth quarter to give Purdue the &nbsp;lead. Spencer Petras completed 22 of 39 passes for 265 yards for Iowa.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos have made a series of roster moves on the eve of their game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos activated three players who have been on injured reserve. They are cornerback A.J. Bouye and D-linemen Dre'Mont Jones and DeMarcus Walker. Boyue had been on IR since suffering a shoulder injury in the season opener. Walker and Jones got hurt in Week 2. The Broncos also promoted two players off their practice squad. They promoted inside linebacker Nigel Bradham and running back Jeremy Cox. Bradham is a ninth-year pro who played the last four seasons in Philadelphia.&nbsp;

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Phillip Brooks returned a pair of punts for touchdowns, Kansas State took advantage of an embarrassing day of special teams by its biggest rival, and the No. 20 Wildcats rolled to a 55-14 victory over Kansas on Saturday. Will Howard threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns while Justin Gardner returned an interception 25 yards for another score, helping the Wildcats (4-1) improve to 4-0 in the Big 12 for the first time since 2014. Deuce Vaughn added 71 yards rushing and another touchdown as Kansas State beat the Jayhawks (0-5, 0-4) for a series-record 12th straight time. Kansas has not beaten its Interstate 70 rival since Nov. 1, 2008, in Lawrence.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Alan Pulido scored in his first game back from international duty, Andreu Fontàs scored his first career MLS goal, and Sporting Kansas City beat the Colorado Rapids 4-0. Sporting outshot the Rapids 23-5 and had eight corner kicks while conceding just one. Gerso Fernandes and Gadi Kinda also scored for Kansas City. Colorado returned to the field for the first time in a month following five postponed matches due to positive COVID-19 tests.&nbsp;

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — In a game that featured six home runs, it was a pair of miscues on the same play that allowed the Tampa Bay Rays to even up the World Series at two games apiece.

The Rays scored twice on pinch-hitter Brett Phillips' RBI single to pull off an 8-7, walk-off win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. After center fielder Chris Taylor misplayed the run-scoring hit in right-center for an error, Randy Arozarena (ah-roh-zah-RAY'-nah) kept charging around third base and stumbled to the ground well before getting to the plate. However, he was able to get up and score when catcher Will Smith didn't handle the relay throw. 

Kevin Kiermaier started the winning rally with a broken-bat flare to right-center for a single off losing pitcher Kenley Jansen. Arozareno kept the rally alive with a two-out walk before Phillips delivered off the bench.

If the errors aren't crazy enough, consider that Phillips was left off Tampa Bay's ALCS roster and hadn't batted since Game 3 of the division series against the Yankees on Oct. 7. His previous hit came on Sept. 25.

The Dodgers took a 7-6 lead in the eighth on Corey Seager's fourth hit of the game, an RBI single. Seager and Justin Turner also homered in the early innings.

Turner's blast was his 12th career postseason homer as a Dodger, breaking the team record held by Duke Snider.

Arozarena became the first player in major league history to homer nine times in a single postseason, breaking the mark he had shared with Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran and Nelson Cruz. Kiermaier and Hunter Renfroe also hit solo shots, and Brandon Lowe (low) connected for a three-run bomb that gave the Rays a brief 5-4 lead in the sixth.

The teams combined to score in eight consecutive half-innings, a span that included the first two lead changes of the series.

John Curtiss worked 1 1/3 scoreless innings to get the win.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 1 Clemson needed a second-half surge to put away pesky Syracuse 47-21, but the Tigers won their 27th straight game against Atlantic Coast Conference competition. 

The Orange were the last league team to beat the Tigers in 2017 and threw a scare into them this time, trailing just 27-21 in the second half. But Clemson got a scoop-and-score TD by cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. and two of Travis Etienne's three rushing touchdowns over the final 17 minutes to gain control. Trevor Lawrence threw two first-half touchdowns as Clemson started 6-0 for a sixth straight season. 

— Alabama's 48-17 rout of Tennessee was costly as the second-ranked Crimson Tide lost receiver Jaylen Waddle to a season-ending broken ankle on the opening kickoff. Mac Jones threw for 387 yards and ran for a touchdown for the 5-0 Tide. Najee Harris ran for three more TDs as Alabama beat the Vols for the 14th consecutive time. 

—Third-ranked Notre Dame is 5-0 after Ian Book passed for 312 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-3 trouncing of Pittsburgh. Book found tight end Ben Skowronek for catch-and-run TD's of 73 and 34 yards. Pitt freshman quarterback Joey Yellen completed just 10 of 21 passes for 107 yards and three interceptions before being pulled in the third quarter in favor of Davis Beville. 

— Justin Fields completed 20 of 21 passes for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 5 Ohio State rolled over Nebraska 52-17 in the season opener for both teams. Master Teague II also ran for two touchdowns as the Buckeyes piled up 498 yards of offense. 

— No. 6 Oklahoma State was a 24-21 winner over No. 17 Iowa State as Spencer Sanders passed for 235 yards and ran for 71 and a touchdown in his return from injury. Chuba Hubbard ran for 139 yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys, who join Kansas State as the only unbeaten teams in the Big 12. 

— Indiana blew a 10-point lead before Michael Penix (PEH'-nihks) ran for the tying and game-winning two-point conversions to help the Hoosiers earn a 36-35 overtime win against eighth-ranked Penn State. The Nittany Lions led, 28-20 until Penix took the Hoosiers down the field and scored on a 1-yard TD run with 22 seconds left in regulation. Penn State failed to score on three of its red-zone possessions, threw two interceptions, missed two field goals, lost a fumble, muffed a punt and fumbled a kickoff.

— Desmond Ridder accounted for 305 yards and four touchdowns to help ninth-ranked Cincinnati hammer No. 16 SMU, 42-13 in a showdown of unbeaten teams. Ridder ran for 179 yards and three touchdowns, and he threw for 126 yards and a score foir the 4-0 Bearcats.

— D'Eriq King was 21 of 30 for 322 yards and a touchdown as 11th-ranked Miami knocked off Virginia, 19-14. Mike Harley had career bests of 10 catches for 170 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown grab on the Hurricanes' second play from scrimmage.

— Zach Wilson passed for 287 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 12 BYU to a 52-14 thumping of Texas State. Tyler Allgeier added 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the 6-0 Cougars, who piled up 579 total yards and 30 first downs on their way to matching the team's best start since 2008.

— No. 14 North Carolina rolled to a 48-21 win over 23rd-rated N.C. State behind Javonte Williams' 160 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Michael Carter rushed for 106 yards and a score as part of a Tar Heels attack that ran for 326 yards and had 578 total yards.

Antonio Brown agrees to 1-year deal with Bucs

UNDATED (AP) — Suspended receiver Antonio Brown has agreed to return to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year deal.

Brown is nearing the end of an eight-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct penalty. He is eligible to return in Week 9, when the first-place Bucs host the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints.

The addition of the volatile seven-time Pro Bowl selection bolsters an already formidable arsenal of playmakers for quarterback Tom Brady that includes tight end Rob Gronkowski and running backs Leonard Fournette and LeSean McCoy.

Astros pitcher Josh James has hip surgery; out 6 to 8 months

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Astros pitcher Josh James has undergone hip surgery and will need six to eight months to recover. General manager James Click says the right-hander had a labral tear of his left hip repaired Friday. James initially injured his hip during an Aug. 20 game at Colorado and went on the injured list. When he returned, he had a 1.35 ERA in his final six appearances of the regular season. 

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Justin Thomas fired a 5-under 67 for a one-shot lead over Jon Rahm through three rounds of the PGA's Zozo Championship.

Thomas trailed by as many as two shots on the back nine before his fortunes changed. He hit a driver on the par-5 16th that clanged off a sycamore tree and dropped into the rough instead of the creek. He holed a 10-foot birdie putt to tie for the lead, then followed with a 30-foot birdie putt up the slope on the par-3 17th.

McDonald was four strokes ahead of Bianca Pagdanganan before the 27-year-old from Mississippi bogeyed 17 and Pagdanganan closed with back-to-back birdies.

In football terms, Klieman called it something else.

“The special teams were the highlight of the day,” he said. “[Phillip] is a talented guy who understands blocking and understands angles. Sets things up so well. We work a ton on our punt return and I’m so happy we were able to benefit from all the hard work and effort that we put into it.”

Brooks set a K-State record with 189 punt-return yards and brought back two first half punts for touchdowns as No. 19 K-State (4-1) demolished Kansas (0-5) in a 55-14 win.

“The punt return team was blocking well today. They gave me confidence,” Brooks said. “This is Special Teams U and with our history of great returners, I felt like I needed to contribute.”

The victory keeps the Governor’s Cup in Manhattan for the 12th year in a row and continues the longest winning streak by either team in the 118-year history of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown.&nbsp;

The Wildcats scored 21 points on defense and special teams in the win over Kansas, and now lead the nation with 122 non-offensive touchdowns over the last two decades.

It was the first one on Saturday that set the tone for the afternoon, as Brooks housed a 55-yard punt return to get the Wildcats on the board against Kansas.

Receiving the ball at midfield, Brooks dashed into Jayhawk territory before a crushing block from Brock Monty cleared the way for the second punt return touchdown of his career.

Brooks finished his freshman season with 120 punt return yards and a touchdown.

Against Kansas, he would surpass that by halftime.

“One of my boys, Wykeen Gill, came over, congratulated me and told me what happened. I didn’t even notice,” Brooks said. “I didn’t know I set the record. I was locked in on offense just looking at schemes.”

Before Brooks put the finishing touches on some history, Justin Gardner stepped up with the play of the game for the K-State defense.

In the second quarter, Gardner read a screen pass from Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels to grab his second interception of the season. He could have walked into the end zone, as Gardner gave K-State their second game in a row with a pick six.

With the final seconds ticking away in the first half and the Wildcats up 28-7, the defense came up with a stop and forced the Jayhawks to punt.

That’s when Klieman called timeout and Brooks called game.

The sophomore’s 52-yard punt return came with 0:00 on the clock in the first half – it was touchdown or bust.

“I told Phillip, ‘There are seven seconds left, you can’t get tackled. You’ve got to score.’ Sure enough, we did a great job,” Klieman said. “Some blocks downfield, made one guy miss and that was a huge momentum boost going into halftime.”

Brooks finished the afternoon with 189 yards as a punt returner against the Jayhawks, which would make him the nation’s leading team in punt return yards this season.

Not the leading player. The leading team.

“After the first return, they were still kicking it to me,” Brooks said. “I was like, ‘OK, they’re just going to keep giving us opportunities.’ We took advantage.”

After special teams and defense gave the Wildcats some breathing room against Kansas, the offense put the Jayhawks away in the second half.

“We challenged them. I didn’t feel like we played very well in the first half offensively. Couldn’t get into a rhythm and a lot of things weren’t going our way,” Klieman said. “Talked to the staff, talked to the players and we just needed to play the game. I was really pleased with the way the offense responded in the third quarter.”

Will Howard finished the second start of his college career with 243 yards on 17-of-24 passing.

Howard found Sammy Wheeler and Briley Moore for a pair of passing touchdowns on Saturday, the first game with multiple touchdowns through the air for the Pennsylvania native.

“With the kids from Kansas on this team and the passion they brought, Coach Klieman let them talk in the meeting on Monday and let them lead us out of the tunnel,” Howard said. “I didn’t grow up a K-State or a KU fan. I don’t really understand the rivalry. But I’m a K-Stater now and I understand that. I was doing it for those guys.”

With K-State in command on Saturday, Howard didn’t throw an interception and got the ball to his playmakers.

Deuce Vaughn continued his historic freshman season with 152 all-purpose yards as he led the Wildcats in rushing and receiving yards on the afternoon.

“It was surreal,” Vaughn said. “All week, we talked about doing it for these Kansas boys that were maybe overlooked by Kansas or shoved to the side… It was fantastic to be out there and play with my boys in the Sunflower Showdown.”

He finished off the game with a one-yard touchdown, breaking ankles on the way to the endzone.

Harry Trotter added his third rushing touchdown of the season and put the finishing touchdowns on a 55-point day for the Wildcats, the highest scoring game of the Chris Klieman era in Manhattan.

Saturday’s game was also the most lopsided edition of the Sunflower Showdown in a decade, since K-State took down the Jayhawks 59-7 in 2010.

“This is a big game for us,” Klieman said. “A big game for our kids from Kansas and Missouri. To be able to dominate the football game like we did, I’m really pleased.”

The Wildcats will hit the road for their next Big 12 matchup, traveling to Morgantown for another 11 a.m. kickoff against West Virginia on Saturday.

No. 19 K-State will return to Bill Snyder Family Stadium on November 7 when they face off with No. 6 Oklahoma State.

Despite the loss, true freshman Jalon Daniels, making his third-career start, posted career highs in passing (207 yards) and rushing (27) yards, while scoring on two running touchdowns in his first Dillons Sunflower Showdown.

But Kansas State’s special teams were too much to overcome for the Jayhawks.

Phillip Brooks had a pair of punt returns for touchdowns in the first half and Blake Lynch had two field goals to give the Wildcats a 34-7 lead over the Jayhawks at halftime.

The Kansas defense had a strong start to the game, despite the early hole. The Jayhawks forced two punts and two field goals in the game’s first 30 minutes and contained the Kansas State offense for much of the half. The Wildcats had just 150 yards of total offense in the first half, while Kansas gained 147 yards.

The Jayhawks got on the board in the second quarter when Daniels scampered in from eight yards out for the first rushing touchdown of his career.

In the third quarter, Kansas State used three offensive touchdowns to build its lead and hold a 55-7 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

Daniels scored his second rushing touchdown with 4:38 remaining to make the score 55-14.

Redshirt-freshman linebacker Steven Parker established a new career high in tackles with five in the loss. He also had a tackle-for-loss. Marcus Harris posted 2 ½ tackles-for-loss after posting three TFLs last weekend at West Virginia.

Linebacker Kyron Johnson also had a productive game for the Jayhawks, collecting six total tackles and a career-high two tackles-for-loss. Corione Harris registered a forced fumble in the fourth quarter that Duece Mayberry recovered. It marked the second-straight week Mayberry recovered a fumble.

Offensively, Kwamie Lassiter II led the team with seven receptions for 58 yards. Senior Ezra Naylor II collected the first four catches of his career, finishing with 40 yards. Sophomore tight end Mason Fairchild also had a career-high two catches for 38 yards.

After two weeks on the road, the Jayhawks will now return home for their next game when they host Iowa State on Halloween at 11 a.m. That contest will be televised on FS1.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson ended Maize’s undefeated season with a 32-28 win over the Eagles in dramatic fashion in Hutchinson's Gowans Stadium Friday night in the last game of the regular season.

With the victory, Hutch wins the AVCTL-D1 title for the first time since 2011, when the Salthawks went 11-2 and won the 5A title, only falling to Rockhurst (Mo.) and Bishop Carroll, who the Salthawks later beat in the 5A West sub-state game.

The Salthawks got off to a great start, with the Salthawk defense forcing a Maize three and out. The Hutch offense drove it down, scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run from quarterback Myles Thompson with 5:46 left in the first quarter.

The Eagles came right back to drive it deep into the Salthawk red zone, as senior running back Josh Sanders tied the game at 7 all with an 8-yard touchdown run with 2:47 left in the first quarter.

The Salthawks offense would then answer back with a run by&nbsp; Zach Hogan from 11 yards out put Hutchinson back on top. Maize blocked the extra point, giving Hutchinson a 13-7 lead.

Maize Sophomore Quarterback Avery Johnson hit Jacob Hanna with a 4 yard pass in the end zone to give Maize its first lead of the game, going into half up 14-13 after the successful point after touchdown kick.

Hutchinson took the second half kick off and drove down to score on a 39-yard touchdown run from Anthony Blackwell to take a 20-14 lead with 8 minutes left in the third quarter.

But the Eagles answered the bell once again, with a tremendous 60-yard run from Sanders that drove the ball deep into Salthawk territory.&nbsp; Johnson scored on 4th and goal, giving Maize a 21-20 lead with under nine minutes remaining to play in the game.

Maize would take their biggest lead of the night with 7:48 left to play, after Hutchinson fumbled the ensuing kick off and Maize recovered it at the Hutchinson 24 yard line. Sanders then scored from 4 yards out to give the Eagles a 28-20 lead.

The Salthawks wasn't finished yet, as senior running back Jalen Barlow went right then cut straight to the end zone&nbsp; on an electrifying 21-yard dash. Hutchinson went for 2 but the Eagles got the stop on Hutchinson's Alec McCuan, keeping Maize on top 28-26.

On the ensuing kick off, the Salthawks pulled off a picture perfect onside kick, and the Salthawks were in business with 3:44 remaining to go in the game.&nbsp; After a great catch by Zack Hogan on 3rd and 9, Hutchinson took it to the Eagle 20 yard line.&nbsp; Then McCuan drove it to the 9 plus a facemask pentaly against Maize took it to the 2 yard line. With the Hutchinson 32-28 win over Maize, the Salthakws have to realize that it was a big accomplishment as Maize was the only 7-0 team in 5A/6A football. The Salthawks have won three games by a combined six points and are 4-1 in games by eight points or fewer. Hutchinson (7-1) was 2-7 each of the last two years.

The Salthawks will enter the playoffs as the number two seed behind Wichita Northwest, and will host 15 seed&nbsp;Newton (2-6) next Friday at Gowan's Stadium in Hutchinson.

The Eagles are the three seed and will host 14 seed Liberal (2-5) at home in Maize.

Buehler allowed just three hits while striking out 10 over the six innings to help the Dodgers beat the Rays, 6-2. Buehler no-hit Tampa Bay until Manuel Margot (mahn-WEHL' mahr-GOH') and Willy Adames (ah-DAH'-mehs) doubled in the fifth.

Justin Turner put the Dodgers ahead with a first-inning homer off Charlie Morton, who was tagged for five runs over 4 1/3 frames. Austin Barnes also belted a solo shot and had two RBIs through six innings.

Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena (ah-roh-zah-RAY'-nah) tied a single-year postseason record with his eighth home run, matching the mark shared by Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran and Nelson Cruz Jr. Arozarena's ninth-inning blast capped the scoring.
