Wilson finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Christian Braun added 14 points, missing a foul shot that could have clinched the game with 12.5 seconds to go, and David McCormack contributed 13 points as the Jayhawks won their fifth straight against the Bluejays. Denzel Mahoney had 19 points to lead Creighton.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Jordan Bohannon scored 24 points to lead four players in double figures for No. 3 Iowa, and the Hawkeyes beat No. 16 North Carolina 93-80 in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game. Luka Garza, who came into the game leading the nation in scoring at 34 points per game, had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawkeyes. It was the 24th double-double of Garza's career, but he had his streak of 19 consecutive games of scoring 20 points or more snapped. Bohannon got hot from 3-point range, making 7 of 16 attempts, and converted his only shot from inside the arc. Garrison Brooks scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures for the Tar Heels.

UNDATED (AP) — Iowa kicker Keith Duncan's wild ride of a career is winding down. He was the Hawkeyes' starting kicker as a freshman, didn't kick in a game the next two years and then became a consensus All-American with a record-setting season in 2019. He in all likelihood will make his final appearance at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday when No. 25 Wisconsin visits the 19th-ranked Hawkeyes. Duncan could return for a sixth season if he wanted. The NCAA is granting athletes an additional year of eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Duncan said he wants to pursue an NFL career.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals and veteran first baseman Carlos Santana have agreed to a $17. 5 million, two-year contract that plugs one of their biggest offensive holes while providing some clubhouse leadership for a rebuilding club. MLB Network was first to report that the sides had reached an agreement Tuesday. The 34-year-old Santana was an All-Star two years ago in Cleveland, when he hit a career-best .281 with 34 homers and 93 RBIs. But he slid to .199 with eight homers and 30 RBIs while playing 60 games during the shortened 2020 season, resulting in the Indians declining his $17.5 million option for the upcoming season.

NEW YORK (AP) — Dick Kaegel, who covered the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals and edited The Sporting News during a career of more than 53 years, has won the Hall of Fame's J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing. Kaegel will be honored during induction weekend from July 23-26 in Cooperstown, New York. He will receive the Spink award along with the late Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe during a double ceremony on July 24. Cafardo was the 2020 Spink winner, and the 2020 inductions were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens ended their three-game losing streak and improved their playoff position by running through the Dallas defense.

The Ravens are 7-5 after racking up 294 yards rushing in a 34-17 win over the Cowboys. Lamar Jackson ran for 94 yards and a touchdown while also throwing for two scores. Jackson was one of 23 Ravens to spend time on the reserve/COVID-19 list while four different strains of the virus swept through the organization.

Gus Edwards ran for 101 yards on just seven carries and rookie J.K. Dobbins added 71 yards rushing with a TD.

The Ravens averaged 7.9 yards per carry against the NFL's worst rush defense.

Greg Zuerlein (ZUR'-lyn) missed three field goal tries and Dallas yielded 20 straight points after taking an early 10-7 lead. Andy Dalton went 31 for 48 for 285 yards and two touchdowns for the 3-9 Cowboys.

UNDATED (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles are changing starting quarterbacks following a four-game losing streak that's dropped them to 3-8-1.

Jalen Hurts will be under center for the start of Sunday's game against the Saints. Head coach Doug Pederson insisted Monday the decision was his, even though Carson Wentz's four-year, $128 million contract begins in 2021. 

Hurts replaced Wentz in the third quarter of Sunday's 30-16 loss to Green Bay. Hurts was sacked three times while completing 5 of 12 passes for 109 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

— Ravens receiver Dez Bryant was scratched from Tuesday's game against his former team after apparently testing positive for COVID-19. Bryant left the field in the middle of warming up with the team in preparation to face the Cowboys. He tweeted that he was annoyed by the timing of the test and later added that he was done for the season.

— Browns starting right guard Wyatt Teller has been placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, putting him in jeopardy of missing next Monday's home game against Baltimore. Teller did not test positive, but had close contact with an infected person who is not affiliated with the Browns.

— The Titans have put wide receiver Adam Humphries on injured reserve, two days after he played his first game following a month in the concussion protocol. Humphries got a concussion when he was hit in a loss to Cincinnati on Nov. 1 and missed the next four games.

— NFL players believe the season can be completed on time without the league moving into a version of a postseason bubble like other sports have. That's provided everyone follows the rules already in place meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus. NFLPA President JC Tretter and Executive Director DeMaurice Smith say that the rules in place requiring players and staff to be tested daily, wear masks, socially distance and have tracers for contact tracing have helped prevent the spread of the virus. 

UNDATED (AP) — Kansas and Creighton went down to the wire today before the fifth-ranked Jayhawks escaped with a 73-72 victory over the No. 8 Bluejays.

He nailed a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 42 seconds left, but he also fouled Marcus Zegarowski from beyond the arc with 1.1 seconds remaining. The preseason Big East player of the year hit his first two free throws but missed the third as Kansas came away with its fifth straight win over Creighton.

Christian Braun scored 14 points and David McCormack contributed 13 for the 5-1 Jayhawks.

— Virginia's ACC/Big Ten Challenge game Wednesday against No. 4 Michigan State has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Cavaliers' program. Virginia did not reveal if the positive test was from a player, coach or staff member.

— Michigan has scheduled a men's basketball game against Toledo to replace the one against North Carolina State that was canceled. The Wolverines were supposed to play the Wolfpack on Wednesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. That game was called off because of COVID-19 concerns involving N.C. State.

— West Virginia says its home opener scheduled for Wednesday against Robert Morris has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Colonials' program.

— South Carolina has scrapped its game against Wofford on Thursday and paused team activities because of positive COVID-19 tests within the program.

UNDATED (AP) — Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State hold the top four spots in the College Football Playoff rankings for the third straight week.

The selection committee's second-from-last rankings had only a little movement in the top 10. Texas A&amp;M is still fifth and Florida held at sixth.

Iowa State moved up a couple of spots to seventh after earning a spot in the Big 12 title game. Cincinnati slipped a spot to eighth after an idle week because of COVID-19 issues in the program.

UNDATED (AP) — Michigan has canceled its annual football showdown with Ohio State, citing a rising number of COVID-19 cases within the Wolverines program. 

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said his players were "very disappointed" to not face the third-ranked Buckeyes, who would be heavily favored. 

The season-ending grudge match known as "The Game" won't be played for the first time in 102 years. 

With two games already canceled, the Buckeyes under current conference rules still need a sixth game to be eligible to play for a Big Ten championship Dec. 19 in Indianapolis against Northwestern. 

Coach Ryan Day said the conference should consider allowing Ohio State to play with only five games.

— The regular-season football finale between seventh-ranked Cincinnati and No. 18 Tulsa has been canceled due to COVID-19 cases and contact tracing within the Bearcats' program. The teams are scheduled to play in the AAC title game on Dec. 19. Both have perfect league records.

UNDATED (AP) — The Kansas City Royals hope they've bolstered their starting lineup, while the Chicago White Sox hope they've improved their starting rotation.

The Royals have worked out a two-year, $17 million contract with first baseman Carlos Santana. 

The 34-year-old Santana was an All-Star two years ago in Cleveland, when he hit a career-best .281 with 34 homers and 93 RBIs. But he slid to .199 with eight homers and 30 RBIs while playing 60 games for the Indians during the shortened 2020 season.

The Rangers have dealt pitcher Lance Lynn to the White Sox for right-hander Dane Dunning and lefty Avery Weems. 

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Lynn was 22-14 in 46 starts the past two seasons for the Rangers, with 335 strikeouts over 292 1/3 innings. 

The 33-year-old Lynn is 104-71 with a 3.57 ERA in 260 games over nine major league seasons, including 236 starts.

— The Nationals have laid off 18 full-time employees from their business operations staff, citing the coronavirus pandemic's economic effect on the sport. The club is also eliminating most of the vacant jobs they planned to fill in the coming months. The team will end a partial furlough for business-side employees who remain with the Nationals and restore their full salaries next year.

DENVER (AP) — Denver Nuggets guard Monte Morris has agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract extension. His agent confirmed the deal that is fully guaranteed and includes incentives that can move it closer to $9.5 million per year. 

Morris averaged 9 points and 3.5 assists per game during the regular season and played a big role during Denver's postseason run to the Western Conference finals.

Harden in Houston for COVID tests after missing camp's start

HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden is back in Houston after missing the start of Rockets training camp. Harden was going through the NBA's COVID-19 testing protocols on Tuesday. 

Coach Stephen Silas said after practice that the disgruntled superstar had arrived in the city and was getting tested but didn't have much information beyond that. Silas said he hadn't spoken to Harden and had no comment on reports that the All-Star wants to be traded. 

UNDATED (AP) — NHL players have balked at changing the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated over the summer. 

That's according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations who also tells The Associated Press that the league is preparing to open a 50- 60-game season on Jan. 13. 

The league and union agreed to a CBA over the summer that included a 10% salary deferral for the 2021 season and a cap on money left in escrow.

Interview: Emmert says NCAA must stay open to reform

NEW YORK (AP) — NCAA President Mark Emmert hopes lessons learned through navigating the pandemic will lead college sports leaders to be more open to future reforms. He also hopes sports leaders prioritize opportunities for athletes when it comes time to cut costs. 

Emmert says the NCAA and its members schools have shown an uncommon ability to be nimble and responsive in addressing issues of eligibility, scheduling, recruiting and other topics. He encouraged schools facing difficult financial decisions to emphasize supporting students above all. 

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Former Maryland quarterback and 1952 Heisman Trophy runner-up Jack Scarbath has died at 90.

Scarbath led the Terrapins to a 28-13 upset of defending national champion Tennessee in the 1951 Sugar Bowl. One year later, he was a unanimous first-team All-America and finished second behind Billy Vessels of Oklahoma in voting for the Heisman. 

Scarbath was 24-4-1 as the Terps' starter and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983.

LAWRENCE, Kan. —&nbsp;No. 5/5 Kansas continues its five-game homestand when it hosts #8/7 Creighton inside Allen Fieldhouse on Tuesday, December 8, in the Big 12/Big East Battle. The game will air on ESPN with Mark Neely and Robbie Hummel calling the action.

In what will be a battle between two of the top teams nationally, Kansas (4-1, 0-0 Big 12) will face off against Creighton (3-0, 0-0 Big East), marking the second top-10 team and the third ranked foe Kansas will have faced this season. KU fell to #1 Gonzaga on Nov. 26 and defeated #20 Kentucky on Dec. 1.

Though there have been 15 men’s basketball meetings between Kansas and Creighton, the two teams have not met since 1974. Kansas leads the overall series with Creighton, 9-6, and has won the last four matchups. This series dates back to 1923 and the last meeting was March 14, 1974, a KU 55-54 win in Tulsa in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional. Under head coach Ted Owens, Kansas would go on to advance to the 1974 Final Four in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Through five games, Kansas has had four different players lead the team in scoring and five in steals, including ties for the team high.

Junior guard Ochai Agbaji leads Kansas in scoring at 16.2 points per game and has scored 16 or more points four of five contests. Agbaji leads the team with 13 3-point field goals made and he has 12 assists and seven steals.

Redshirt-freshman forward Jalen Wilson is coming off his second-career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds against North Dakota State (12/5). NEW YORK (AP) — Longtime St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright has won the Roberto Clemente Award, given annually by Major League Baseball for community involvement and philanthropy. Wainwright's Big League Impact foundation and recording artist Garth Brooks' Teammates for Kids Foundation teamed for a Home Plate Project with Texas pitcher Kyle Gibson, and donated about $5.8 million donated to 94 charities. The effort provided more than 4 million meals to prevent childhood hunger during the coronavirus pandemic and nearly 8 million meals in all.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — It's a good thing that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce doesn't spend much time dwelling on gaudy individual statistics. Looking at his own wouldn't give Kelce much time for anything else. With a game-high eight catches for 136 yards and a touchdown in their 22-16 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday night the two-time All-Pro eclipsed 1,000 yards for the fifth consecutive season. He became the 26th player in NFL history with a streak that long, and the only tight end. Eight of those players are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

UNDATED (AP) — Gonzaga and Baylor remain atop the AP Top 25 men's basketball poll after their hotly anticipated game in Indianapolis was called off about 90 minutes before tipoff last week because of positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the Bulldogs program. Gonzaga received 54 of 61 first-place votes from a national media panel while the Bears had the other seven. Iowa remained third after Luka Garza's monster week powered the Hawkeyes to a pair of easy victories, Michigan State climbed four spots to No. 4 and Kansas jumped two spots to round out the top 5.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia is hopeful that star safety Richard LeCounte will be able to play in a make-up game against Missouri, six weeks after he was injured in a motorcycle accident. Coach Kirby Smart says LeCounte is progressing well, though he is expected to be held out of contact drills during Monday's practice. LeCounte sustained a shoulder injury and bruised ribs in the Oct. 31 accident. It occurred just hours after the No. 12 Bulldogs returned home from a win at Kentucky. Smart also expressed optimism that defensive lineman Jordan Davis and running back Kendall Milton will be able to play Saturday.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Sydney Wilson scored a career-high 21 points and No. 21 Missouri State beat Lincoln (Mo.) 100-38 in the Lady Bears' home opener. Missouri State scored the opening 24 points of the game — with scoring from eight different players. Wilson scored 16 points in the first half and Lincoln totaled 12. Abigayle Jackson and Sydney Manning each added 12 points for Missouri State. Joseline Ramos scored nine points for Lincoln, which counted it as an exhibition.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — The National Women's Soccer League is returning to Kansas City. An expansion franchise has been awarded to an ownership group led by local businesspeople that includes the fiancee of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The group is led by the husband-and-wife team of Angie and Chris Long. It will assume all player rights, draft picks and other assets from Utah Royals FC as that club winds down operations. Included in the ownership group is Mahomes' future wife, Brittany Matthews, a former professional soccer player and fitness entrepreneur.

UNDATED (AP) — A top 10 of The Associated Press college football poll with Indiana and Iowa State is something never before seen. The eighth-ranked Hoosiers and No. 10 Cyclones both moved up two spots in the rankings Sunday, heights those programs have not reached in decades. One of the reasons the AP poll is still relevant in a college football landscape where the champion is crowned through a playoff is that nothing else records the history of the sport so well. Neither Indiana nor Iowa State will win the national championship this season, but their special seasons will forever be honored through the AP Top 25.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are perfect no more.

The Washington Football Team erased a 14-3 halftime deficit and beat the Steelers, 23-17. Dustin Hopkins broke a deadlock by drilling a 45-yard field goal with 2:04 remaining. Montez Sweat clinched it by deflecting a Ben Roethlisberger (RAWTH'-lihs-bur-gur) pass into the hands of Jon Bostic for an interception that set up another Hopkins field goal

Alex Smith was 31 of 46 for 296 yards, including game-tying, 15-yard scoring strike to Logan Thomas with 9:08 to play. J.D. McKissic grabbed 10 passes for 70 yards, and Thomas gained 98 yards with nine receptions.

Roethlisberger completed 33 of his 53 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns for the Steelers, who fell to 11-1.

The outcome leaves Washington in a virtual tie with the New York Giants for first place in the NFC East at 5-7. However, the Giants own the tiebreaker based on their season sweep of Washington.

Bills beat Niners to stay ahead of Dolphins

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills are another step closer to ending the New England Patriots' string of 11 consecutive AFC East titles.

Josh Allen was sharp in the Bills' 34-24 win over the 49ers, completing 32 of 40 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns. Cole Beasley caught nine passes for 130 yards and a touchdown to help the 9-3 Bills stay one game ahead of Miami and three in front of the Pats. 

Dawson Knox, Isaiah McKenzie and Gabriel Davis also grabbed scoring passes from Allen, who tied a single game career high for TD throws.

Nick Mullens threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions as the 49ers fell to 5-7, keeping them at the bottom of the NFC West.

Jets fire defensive coordinator after much-criticized play

UNDATED (AP) — The New York Jets have fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams a day after his stunning play call cost the team its first win of the season. 

The still-winless Jets were seconds away from their first victory Sunday until Williams inexplicably called for an all-out blitz against Las Vegas. Derek Carr heaved a perfectly placed 46-yard touchdown pass to Henry Ruggs III with 5 seconds left to lift the Raiders to a 31-28 victory. Ruggs was in man-to-man coverage with rookie cornerback Lamar Jackson. 

— The Panthers have shut down their facility for the next two days after multiple players either tested positive for COVID-19 or were exposed to someone with the virus during the team's bye week. Rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos was among the three players.

— The league is allowing only virtual interviews of candidates for coaches, general managers and various other football jobs until both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention. League Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent believes that will make for more opportunities for a diverse collection of candidates. Vincent stressed the importance of adhering to the spirit of the Rooney Rule. It was enacted in 2003 to enhance opportunities for minorities to be considered for coaching positions.

— The league has suspended Titans defensive end Teair Tart and Bengals strong safety Shawn Williams for unnecessarily stepping on opponents on Sunday. Tart will miss Tennessee's game against Jacksonville and Williams will miss the Bengals' game against Dallas next weekend.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond was the lone top-25 men's basketball team in action on Monday, and the Spiders had to fight off an upset bid by Wofford.

Jacob Gilyard delivered 18 points, including a big 3-pointer with 19.5 seconds left in Richmond's 77-72 victory. The 19th-ranked Spiders scored the game's first 11 points and went on an 11-3 run that gave them a 56-44 lead. Wofford responded with a 20-7 spurt that gave the Terriers their first lead.

Tyler Burton scored in the lane to put Richmond ahead 73-72 with 1:09 left. After Jones missed for the Terriers, Gilyard hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game to give Richmond more of a cushion.

WACO, Texas (AP) — The No. 2 Baylor men's basketball team is looking for a replacement opponent for its scheduled home opener. The Bears were supposed to play Nicholls State on Tuesday night, but the Colonels had positive COVID-19 tests in their program.

Baylor said it was trying to find another opponent to play before its Big 12 opener at home Sunday against No. 13 Texas.

The cancellation of the home opener comes two days after Baylor's showdown with No. 1 Gonzaga was scrapped only 90 minutes before tip Saturday because a player and another person with the Bulldogs' traveling team tested positive.

— No. 13 Wisconsin's men's basketball game with No. 25 Louisville scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed. The announcement comes four days after Louisville announced it was pausing team-related activities indefinitely due to a positive COVID-19 test and contact tracing measures within its program. That already caused Louisville to cancel a scheduled Dec. 4 home game with UNC Greensboro.

— The UConn men's basketball team has suspended team activities for a second time this fall following another positive coronavirus test in the program. The school said the move will force the postponement of Friday's home game against St. John's. That was to have been the first Big East game for the Huskies since returning to the conference after seven years in the American Athletic Conference.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan's football team has resumed limited workouts, taking a step toward possibly playing No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday. 

The Wolverines paused in-person activities last week after a COVID-19 outbreak within the program. 

The Buckeyes, who have Big Ten and national title hopes, played through what coach Ryan Day called a "mini outbreak" on Saturday in a 52-12 win at Michigan State after he was relegated to watching the game from home.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Outgoing President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend Saturday's Army-Navy game at West Point. That's according to Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk, who said he was informed today of Trump's plans to attend his final Army-Navy game as Commander In Chief.

It will mark the first time the storied rivalry will be held at an academy's field since 1943.

UNDATED (AP) — Houston Rockets All-Star guard James Harden hasn't reported to training camp. 

Head coach Stephen Silas said today that he is unaware of any timetable for Harden's arrival and doesn't know if the former NBA Most Valuable Player is in Houston. Silas added that the team hasn't discussed any possible penalties for the superstar if Harden doesn't report soon.

— Warriors star Draymond Green and No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman are sidelined with the coronavirus. While coach Steve Kerr didn't actually say the two players had positive results, he made it clear they were the only two to miss practice on Day 1 of training camp today. Kerr told reporters today that he couldn't elaborate on what Green and Wiseman were able to do at the moment.

— Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts says a player was among the three people connected to the team who tested positive for the coronavirus. The team did not identify the player as it prepares to begin its four-game preseason schedule Friday against the Kings. The Blazers announced the positive tests yesterday but did not specify whether they were among players or staff members.

UNDATED (AP) — Former National League Rookie of the Year and 1972 American League MVP Dick Allen has died at 78, according to the Philadelphia Phillies. 

Allen's No. 15 was retired by the Phillies in September, 56 years after he was named the NL's top rookie. 

Allen batted .292 with 351 homers, 1,119 RBIs and .912 OPS in 15 seasons, playing first base, third base and left field.

Allen fell one vote shy of election to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the veterans committee in 2014. His fight against racism during a tumultuous time with the Phillies in the 1960s cost him on and off the field.

— The Angels have acquired closer Raisel Iglesias from the Reds for right-hander Noé Ramirez and a player to be named or cash. Iglesias has been the Reds' closer for the past four seasons, racking up 100 saves in 114 opportunities over that stretch with a career 3.15 ERA. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Former Texas football coach Fred Akers has died at 82. 

Akers coached the Longhorns' first Heisman Trophy winner, Earl Campbell, and went 86-31-2 in 10 seasons with the Longhorns. But a bowl game rout in 1977 and a muffed punt six years later on the same Cotton Bowl field cost Akers and Texas a football national championship the Longhorns wouldn't win for another 32 years.

His daughter, Lesli says Akers died of complications from dementia.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Olympic gold medal wrestler and Iowa head coach Dan Gable has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House.

Gable was a champion wrestler at Iowa State University, compiling a 117-1 record and winning two NCAA titles. He would go on to an incredibly successful coaching career at the University of Iowa, where his teams won 15 NCAA titles. 

British Open venues confirmed for 2023 and 2024

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) — The R&amp;A says that the British Open will be played at Royal Liverpool in 2023 and at Royal Troon in 2024. 

The tournaments were rescheduled following the cancellation of this year's Open at Royal St George's because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was the first time since 1945 that the British Open was canceled. 

Arrest after break-in at Tom Brady-Gisele Bundchen mansion

BROOKLINE, Mass. (AP) — Police have arrested a man they say broke into a suburban Boston mansion owned by Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen and made himself comfortable on a couch. 

Police in Brookline responded early Monday after a security company reported alarms had gone off in the house. They reported seeing an intruder on a security camera. Police say a homeless man was found lying on a couch in the basement. No one was home. 

The suspect faces charges of trespassing and breaking and entering.

NEW YORK (AP) — Five-time Grand Slam doubles champion Dennis Ralston has died at age 78. 

Ralston was one of the initial players signed to the professional World Championship Tennis tour in the 1960s and a member of the sports' Hall of Fame. Ralston reportedly died Sunday of cancer in Austin, Texas.

LAWRENCE, Kan. —&nbsp;For the second-straight week, Kansas freshman forward&nbsp;<a href="https://kuathletics.com/roster/ioanna-chatzileonti/">Ioanna Chatzileonti</a>&nbsp;was named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week (FOW) for her performances in Week 2, the league announced on Monday. The honor is her second-career weekly Big 12 recognition.

The Athens, Greece native averaged 10.0 points and 12.0 boards in two games this past week to earn the weekly nod. Chatzileonti nearly missed a double-double against Ole Miss in Oxford with nine points and 10 rebounds (Dec. 3).&nbsp;

Chatzileonti posted her first double-double in a victory at home versus Oral Roberts where the Jayhawks hit the 100-point mark in convincing fashion, 100-59. She turned in 11 points and 14 rebounds with 11 of those boards coming on the defensive end (Dec. 6).&nbsp;

The&nbsp;6-2 forward’s 24 rebounds were second in the Big 12 for the week. She has recorded three 10-rebound games on the season with an average of 10 per game, placing her fifth overall and leading all freshmen in the league.

The honor is the first consecutive nod for Kansas since the conception of the accolade in 2009. It is the eighth all-time FOW honor for Kansas, with Brandon Schneider at the helm for three of those honors in Holly Kersgieter (2019) and Chazileonti (Nov. 30 and Dec. 7). Chazileonti is the first KU international player to receive FOW and to be selected twice.&nbsp;

Chatzileonti and the Jayhawks will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 10, when&nbsp;they host Oklahoma for their Big 12 Conference opener. The contest is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. CT tip.&nbsp;
