SEDGWICK COUNTY — Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fatal fire in Wichita.

Just after 7:30a.m. Thursday, crews responded the fire in a detached garage at a home in the 4100 Block of West Douglas in Wichita, according to a social media report from the Wichita Fire Department.

At the scene, firefighters found a victim in critical condition. Despite life saving efforts, EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Authorities did not release the victim's name or additional details late Thursday morning.
